What to do when a Creative Commons license changes?

I was thinking so much about the technical aspects I forgot to mention in my last post that I've changed the design.

I had been using a cropped version of the excellent photo of the clock at the Musée d'Orsay by Yves Lorson pretty much since the site launched back in May 2008. However a while ago Yves changed the license for the photo from a Creative Commons Attribution License to "all rights reserved". I looked in to the matter, and the license which was in place when I made the cropped would continue to apply, but I didn't feel comfortable continuing this situation especially as it wasn't so clear as to how it would affect me using the photo in different ways in the future. I tried to contact Yves, but got no reply. So I've made a new logo using Inkscape, an open source SVG editor.

Let me know what you think of the new logo, or any design ideas.

New release now live

The new release which went wrong last week has been fixed and is now live and seems to be working ok. There were some teething problems yesterday and today where it wouldn't show whether a service was open or closed correct, but I think I've successfully fixed this as well, although it might be minute out or at change over times.

Technically this quite a bit improvement as the way that openings are stored and the calculation for determining whether they are open has been greatly improved. I've been working on this for about two months, so I'm glad it's finally live.

At the moment only Waitrose have any special openings for the Christmas and New Year period. Hopefully I shall add some more in the next few days.

In the New Year I will continue my work on form to allow users to submit and edit the information in a wiki style. Please let me know if you spot any errors on the site, thanks.

Downtime

Sorry to anyone who was trying to access Opening Times this morning. I released a new version last night and it seemed to be working ok, but this morning it keep failing. It took a while to get the back up restored.
