Opening past midnight

I received an email saying that it is confusing when a store is open past midnight. I've been trying to think of a way to make this clearer. Here is a prototype, please let me know your thoughts, does it help or make it more confusing? Perhaps there is an alternative layout you think would be better. Thanks.

  1. Is this for the big supermarkets that stay open 24 hours a day, apart from a short break period on Sunday?

In the photo, I think it is confusing that you have the "open past midnight" (neat graphic, BTW) and "closes midnight" on Monday.

How about replacing the closes with a dash, to signify no closing time. You could then turn the "open past midnight" graphic the other way round to lead from the end slot on one night to the start slot on the following day. This then makes the flow of information very logical.

  2. Yeah, that would make more sense. I should have also illustrated the situation where something stays open to say 2am, at present this shows as being open until midnight then the next day from midnight to 2am, so leaving out the closes and opens and adding the graphic will hopefully make it clearer.

  3. To be honest, I didn't think it was confusing before.

On the other hand, I definitely don't understand the screenshot above!
