New site launched!

I've finally made the new version of opening-times.co.uk live. I've been slowly working on it in my spare time for nearly two years. I'm sure there are some bugs to iron out but I'm glad to have finally made it live.

The old site had been collecting spam, so as I've imported the pages to the new site I've tried to filter it out where possible. I'm waiting to enable editing on the new site until I can find a better way to stop spam from getting added in the first place. If you have suggestions, let me know!

I've also built a way to import from a Google spreadsheet, and hope this might be attractive to people looking to contribute to the site. I'm very grateful for all the contributions that have been made over the years, thank you. I'd like to hear feedback about how I can improve the site for you. I'm aware that some of the data is quite out of date and am looking forward to spending some time focusing on data quality now that the new site is live.


I'm also looking at releasing a public API as I have received quite a lot of emails about this. Thank you for the interest and I'll post again here shortly with the progress.

    An entry has appeared on your site but the openign times are wrong - I couldn't see an easy way to report errors, something I feel is critical to reassure those listed that mistakes can/will be corrected

  5. The new design looks like a marked improvement :)
    I think the best way to prevent spam is to add a captcha and validate email addresses... It should stop the majority of it getting through!

  6. I have noticed that a lot of the mobile phone numbers in the ads are now missing the zero off the beginning and no +44 replacement.
    Is this an error caused by the update?

    Site looks great, but I've tried sticking in assorted postcodes and it just tells me nothing could be found! I've now tried just the prefix (i.e. CR2) and that gives me a few things, but not much.

    Hope it can be fixed soon.

    Lush Manchester M1 1PT: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:00 - 6:30, Thursday: 10:00 - 8:00, Saturday: 9:30 - 6:00, Sunday: 11:00 - 5:30.

  18. Staples Taunton Opening times are incorrect, they are now

    Monday to Friday 9AM to 8PM
    Saturday 9AM to 6PM
    Sunday 10:30 to 4:30

    Please update ASAP as it is causing issues for the store

  19. I like the idea of the site, but it has to have accurate data. It came up first in the search I did for "opening times marks and spencer nottingham". So I headed off to the store after work to get some foreign exchange..... only to find it closes at 6pm instead of 6:30 - I arrived as the town clock struck 6......

    Why is no longer the option to edit the company details and opening times?
    Can you please amend details for IT for London?
    If yes please delete '1st Floor' from the address and change the phone number to 020 7993 8690.
    Also there are to IT for London's and people may get confused - can you please delete any of them.

  26. I'm currently searching for a Post Office that's open later than 5:30pm in London. It would be great if it was possible to search your data for branches of a chain that're going to be open at a particular time?

  27. Update Times - very bad as you are giving out incorrect and not updated data.

    Eg M&S Handforth dean you have as 09.00 - 21.00 in fact they are open 08.00 - 23.00

    People are being misled. This is not good - while allowing you to make money on footfall advertising.

    When are you allowing editing again? Not the greatest move IMO as now a lot of businesses have moved/changed details etc etc.

  30. Hi B&Q have recently changed their opening times are you going to update the hours to reflect this as we are receiving complaints from customers who use this website and we have no way of amending the information - DIY.com has the correct information

    Our listing (shown below) is showing us as closed on a number of days and customers are complaining about it. Would you be so kind as to correct it please?
